So I'm in love with a new blog. Ana from Knock of Wood . She offers all kinds of plans for free that are knock-off of some of my favorite furniture. She creates plans based off of Pottery Barn, Land of Nod, etc. She's my hero :) So I showed my hubby and he went straight to work. He built the entryway coat rack and bench. I'm so proud and I love it. It was cheesy easy and he had it done lickety-split. Next he has to make the kiddies some nightstands and a new bed for us.

Saw you on Ana's brag post today! I really want to make these! Would you mind sharing an estimate of what it cost?
That looks awesome! I am so impressed!
Looks great! I saw Ana's brag post, too. Did you stain or paint it? The color is great, and I'd love to know what color it is so I can find it. It's exactly what I've been looking for to match my living room furniture.
Love it! And I want that exact thing! Is your husband experienced ? Could a beginer do it?
It cost us about $75 (paint, hardware, paintbrushes, wood, wood filler & brad nails). I used whiteboard from Lowes. The great thing is that I barely used any of the primer and only about 1/3 of the paint. I intend on making more projects that use the remaining primer and paint. Cost savings down the road!
The paint (not stain) I used was Valspar Ultra Premium Base 4, Brown Velvet Interior Semigloss, 101-1Y41, 107-4, 109-23, 113-10. Lowes has this brand of paint.
As far as experience level is concerned, Jenn describes me as advanced beginner or low intermediate. The hardest part to this project was cutting the wood without a table saw (ulterior motive here).
Thanks for the feedback.
So, is the bench one of her plans? I can't seem to find it and REALLY want one!! d_rammell at hotmail dot com. tHANKS!
This is just beautiful, and you did a fantastic job! The bench plans are here http://knockoffwood.blogspot.com/2009/11/plans-for-entry-storage-benchshelf_2314.html
