The things I will do for my children. Every year for their birthday I make their cakes/cupcakes. I don't really know what I'm doing most of the time and I end up mumbling and grumbling as I labor over their cake creations. Yesterday was my son's 4th birthday and he wanted whale cupcakes that we saw in a Wilton cupcake book. He talked about them for days. I set out to make 12 but after piping stars on one, I settled for four, enough for the four of us. Unfortunately my candy melt spouts starting to get too warm and started falling off. After that, the whales looked like plain old fish. Whale or fish, my son loved them and inhaled his cupcake in about five minutes while my other son took over a half an hour to eat his.

Super cute. I was just thinking...drop the "spout" and make it yellow instead of blue and you've got everyone's favorite "snack that smiles back" goldfish! LOL
What kind of pan did you use? They are precious.
Such cute cupcakes!!! Your sons looked like they had a good time.
i love it when you see children smile and laugh at something new to them...such a great feeling inside
I would love to do this for my grandson's first birthday. Would you considering sharing any information you have on how to make them?
